Easiest snack ever and fun to make with the kids. These festive trees can be dressed up with sprinkles, piped frosting, or mini M&M’s. You can also use cookie cutters to make fancier shaped trees.

Directions

  1. Grease or spray a 9×13-inch pan and set aside.

  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and marshmallows, stirring constantly. Once the mixture is smooth and melted, add green food coloring little by little until you achieve desired tree color. Once completely smooth and green, remove from heat and immediately stir in Rice Krispies. Continue to stir until all the cereal is coated.

  3. Press evenly into prepared pan Be sure to spray with a nonstick cooking spray or line the tray with a piece of wax paper. Sprinkle evenly with festive sprinkles, gently pressing them into the Rice Krispies so they stick. Let chill for 10 minutes in the refrigerator or 20 minutes on the counter.

  4. Spray a sharp knife with non-stick spray and cut the treats lengthwise along the middle of the pan (the long way). Then, cut each of those rows into triangles (You might have 4 scraps pieces leftover at each end of each row).

  5. Insert pretzel stick or mini candy cane stick into bottom of triangles to form trunk. Use a chopstick to create a small hole in the bottom if the treats are super firm.

  6. Arrange on a platter and set the kids loose!
