Homemade Salsa

The best salsa is made using fresh tomatoes. Use a variety of types and colors for a festive salsa or play around with roasting tomatoes for deeper flavor. In a pinch, canned tomatoes work just fine, but add a teaspoon of sugar to offset the acid. Control the spice level by controlling the onions, garlic, and your preference for mild or hot peppers.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. Alternatively, put all of the ingredients in a food processor and pulse in shorts bursts until everything is fine chopped. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
